Dress Revue
The McCurtain County Dress Revue provide an opportunity for members involved in the fashion and fabrics program to exhibit items they have constructed during the current 4-H year.
Below are the classes for the 4-H Dress Revue
Beginning Level (Ages 9 - 11)
- Pillowcase (using pattern provided)
- Laundry Bag (using pattern provided)
- Chef or Work Apron (using pattern provided)
- Tote Bag (using pattern provided)
- Skirt with elastic waist
- Shorts with elastic waist
- Simple two-piece active sportswear
- Simple curtains
- Item or simple garment made from polar fleece
Intermediate Level (Ages 12 - 14)
- Bath Robe
- Pull-on top and coordinating bottom with elastic waist (shorts, pants or skirt)
- Blanket with binding
- Shorts, Pants, Skirt or Coulottes with waistband
- Item made from polar fleece
- One-piece dress or jumpsuit
- Two-piece garment using one of the techniques from the intermediate level sample notebook. (You must attach a 3 x 5 card indicating the technique used.
- Any non-clothing item using one of the techniques from the intermediate level sample notebook. (You must attach a 3 x 5 card indicating the technique used.
Advanced Level (Ages 15 - 19)
- Item made with polar fleece
- Two piece ensemble using one of the techniques from the advanced sample notebook. (Attach 3 x 5 indicating technique used).
- Lined skirt, pants or jacket
- Unlined Garment
- Coat - lined or unlined
- Lined suit or dress
- Special Occasion Garment - prom dress, etc.
FUN ITEMS
Beginning Level (Ages 9 - 11)
- Decorated ready-made shirt using fusible web, fabric scraps, trims, or buttons. Paints, if used, must be used with one or more of the above.
- Potholder or hot mat
- Beginning Sample Notebook
Intermediate Level (Ages 12-14)
- Recycle a garment (must show before picture and a cost sheet)
- Decorate a garment using machine stitches, flat braid, sew-on appliques, hand embroidery or other technique. Must include one sewn technique. Attach a 3 x 5 card indicating technique used.
- Sewn item related to another project. Attach a 3 x 5 card indicating project.
- Intermediate Sample Notebook
Advanced Level (Ages 15 - 18)
- Two pieces of travel accessories such as jewelry case, shaving bag, etc.
- Garment constructed from another textile product such as a blanket, towel, or sheet.
- Recycled item (attach before picture and cost sheet)
- Embellished Garment
- Sample Notebook
